Greetings Knitters!!!
The Knitters’ Day Out Committee is pleased to present its list of classes for the 23rd annual Knitters’ Day Out. This
year’s event is scheduled for September 19th and 20th.
This year we have something new for you. We will hold classes on Friday evening from 6 to 9 pm, the same time the
market is open, and in the same building. This will increase the number of classes we can offer. You may register for any
combination of two classes on Friday and Saturday. Come both Friday and Saturday, and make it a special knitting
weekend away. You will have plenty of time to take class, visit the vendor market, and enjoy our buffet lunch. A list of
nearby motels is included in the booklet.
Kathryn Alexander, Margaret Fisher, and Charleen Schurch are our guest teachers for 2008. You can find a short
biography of each of them in the back of this booklet. You may take only one class with a guest teacher, so consider
your choices carefully. Our guest teachers will teach Saturday only.
Some of our volunteer teachers are new to KDO and others are long-time veterans. All have something special to share
with you. Classes are available for knitters with skill levels from beginner to advanced. If you know someone who would
like to learn to knit, consider giving a gift of registration to the Beginner Knitting class. What better way to share your
love of knitting!
We will offer our luncheon buffet again this year. You can save time at KDO by purchasing your lunch ticket at the same
time you register. Our merchandise offered for sale this year includes a ¾ length sleeve denim shirt and a backpack/tote
bag. Both will include the KDO logo.
Last year we received a record number of donations for Caps for Kids. Thank you! We once again ask each person
who attends classes to bring a knitted cap to donate to this cause. All caps are distributed in our local area to children in
need. You may also enter your cap in the Caps for Kids contest. Three winners will win a $10 voucher to spend at the
KDO market.
Registration will remain open until August 22nd. You can check to see what classes are open at any time on our website
at www.knittersdayout.org . Other information about the event will also be posted there.
See you in September, and meanwhile…happy knitting!!!
