Skill Levels are defined as follows-
Basic: No knitting knowledge or skills needed.
Beginner: Can knit, purl cast on and cast off.
Intermediate: Beginner level skills plus increase, decrease, and follow simple patterns.
Advanced: Intermediate level skills plus yarn over patterns, cables, ribbing, comfortable with
pattern interpretation.
All levels: This class is of interest regardless of knitting skill level.
CLOSED GAA. Doo Dads and Finishing in Knitting

Learn how to knit and attach short row shapes,
overlapping layers of squares, triangles and
I-cord variations using 8 colors of hand-dyed yarns.
Whimsy and color become the focal point in this
class adding new breadth and depth to the end of

This class is for those who wish to go beyond the basics. It covers a
variety of finishing topics: the tubular cast on and bind off, provisional
cast on, working short rows, grafting, and duplicate stitch. Learn and
practice a potpourri of useful techniques to advance your knitting and
finishing skills.
CLOSED GCC. Tune Up Your Top Down Sock Knitting

An advanced sock workshop for happy sock knitters who wish to refine or
spice up their socks. These tools can be used when working on socks of your
own design as well as working from an existing pattern - just like editing a
recipe to your own taste. Some of the highlights include: 3 cast ons that
are guaranteed not to bind and may be decorative as well; Heel options to
make them fit perfectly on any foot, and suggestions for harder wearing
heels; Three types of toes - we'll work on how to do Kitchener that is
simple - as well as two options that require no Grafting. Prerequisite: Must
have knit at least one sock before; must know how to knit in the round with
double points, two circulars or the magic loop. Materials fee: $1.00 payable

DD. Drafting a Custom Sweater Pattern

After you've taken the "What Size Do I Knit?" class and know all your
measurements, take this class to chart out and plan a classic set-in sleeve
worsted weight pullover designed around your measurements. This class won't
turn you into a designer in three hours, but it will get you started on
designing a sweater based on your own unique measurements. Prerequisites: :
Students must have taken the "What Size Do I Knit" class either at this year
's or last year's KDO, at Stitch Your Art Out or at Colonial Yarn Shop, and
be comfortable with pattern interpretation and simple math. Materials fee:
$1.00 payable to instructor in class for large sized graph paper

We will explore several ways to add beads to your knitting while creating a
small purse.
CLOSED HH. How to Work with Color Cathy Davies
Beginner
Students will learn how to work with different colored yarns in three ways:
slip stitch, Fair Isle and Intarsia. They will start making a sampler using
all three techniques. There will be some discussion on color choice.

CLOSED II. Moebius Scarves

Learn the magic of a moebius scarf! This intriguing scarf is worked from the
center out. It can be worn in several different ways, including as a
hood/headscarf. We will learn what a moebius is, a quick and invisible
cast-on, and some variations for the bind-off. Students will start a
full-sized moebius in class, to be finished at home.
CLOSED JJ. Lily of the Valley Lace Scarf

Learn the Estonia Lily of the Valley lace pattern by knitting a scarf. The
class will focus on the mastering "nupps", the Estonia bobble technique used
in Frankie's Stole, Nancy Bush's Lily of the Valley lace pattern. Once you
have completed this scarf you will be ready to knit a lovely Lily of the
Valley lace shawl. Prerequisites: Ability to read charted patterns involving
yarn over and provisional cast on.
CLOSED KK. Fixing Mistakes

How do you fix that twisted stitch, pick up a dropped stitch or rip back
without having to go all the way? Learn how to do these things and more as
we explore ways to fix mistakes and avoid them in the first place.
CLOSED LL. Knitted Snowflakes

Have you ever admired those crocheted snowflakes? Here's your chance to
learn how to do the knitted version. Prerequisites: Must be proficient with
double pointed needles and finer yarns. Materials fee: $2.00 payable to

CLOSED MM. Modular Knit Vest

Modular knitting is the creation of a large piece of knitting that is
created from a series of smaller pieces that are joined together in the
knitting process. In English, it's knitting without seams with geometric
shapes. We will create a simple mini vest that requires no seams - just
pieces that are knit both horizontally and vertically. The vest will be
suitable to use on a teddy bear.
NN. Christmas Stocking, Knit an Heirloom

Learn all the essentials to knit a Christmas stocking. Bring a kit or yarn,
pattern and required size needles for your project. Prerequisites: Knit,
purl, read a color chart; can learn intarsia in class
CLOSED OO. Aran "Go Color"

Think outside the box. Make those cables "pop" by putting them in color.
Integrating color into Aran stitches will give an entirely new look as you
learn to work with several bobbins at the same time. We will start project
by learning corrugated ribbing.
CLOSED PP. Introduction to Lace Scarves

all! Using a simple pattern, you'll learn the ins and outs of the yarn over,

SS. Combination Continental Knitting Style - Kinder, Gentler, Faster Style of Knitting

Combination Continental Knitting is THE style for crocheters who want to
learn to knit! It is a gentler knitting style for most tender wrists,
elbows, and shoulders. You will learn to cast on, knit, purl, increase,
decrease, and bind off. Your purls are so easy you hardly know you're doing
them, your rows should go faster, and your knitting will be more "even" from
